From Five to SEVEN

Hello all you lovely readers,

Today, I want to tell you a story about my friend Deanna and the beautiful journey her family is embarking upon.

First let me tell you a little bit about Deanna.

Deanna is a beautiful, strong, God-filled woman. I first met her about 4 years ago when we did a community theatre production together. She was cast as the momma bear in our production of The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs. I distinctly remember that Deanna was always sweet and friendly to her cast mates. She would always offer up kind words whenever any of us needed it. Ever since my first interaction with Deanna, she has been inspiring myself and everyone else around her with her generous heart. She works as a health coach and raises her 3 wonderful children. She is involved with her community and has done many missions for other areas of the world. Overall, she takes her faith and uses it to spread love to others.

That’s why you need to hear this story.

As I said before Deanna and her husband Steve have 3 wonderful children: Kobie, Asher, and Jeremiah. However, since the birth of her youngest child, Deanna and Steve have felt called to have more children. Despite their wishes and efforts, they found out a while ago that this family was not going to grow by child birth. So, they prayed on it. This is when they were drawn to adoption, specifically adoption of children with special needs.

Deanna and Steve are now working towards adopting two special needs children from China. One of the children is a little girl about Jeremiah’s age with Downs Syndrome. From the first moment Deanna laid eyes on the picture of this little girl, she knew that this was the little girl she and Steve were meant to adopt. The second child is a boy about Kobie’s age who has suspected Hemophilia. This child was given a birthday as to which he must be adopted by and he was quickly approaching the deadline. Were he to pass the deadline, this boy would never have a family. Furthermore, because this boy’s Hemophilia has never been treated, he has never experienced the joys of running and climbing and playing. Deanna and her Husband once again prayed over the decision and were drawn to adopt him as well.

Now comes the difficulty.

Deanna and Steve are working against the deadline of adopting before July. If they wait too long, they will lose one of their two children. So, they started a fundraiser to help them reach their goal. They need $45000 total to cover the fees to adopt these children. So far, they have reached $3,500 which is definitely helpful; however, they still have a long way before they can call these kids their own. This is why I am asking for your guys’ help. I usually wouldn’t ask my readers for money, but I can’t think of a more deserving and loving couple. Please, if you have anything you can spare to help out these wonderful people, donate to this cause. Even if all you have is $5 or $10 to give, anything is helpful. You would not only be helping a couple who have been trying really hard for these children, but you would be changing the lives of this little girl and boy.

Thank you!
